The Great Blue Hole – discovered by Jacques Cousteau in 1971, this
site has been declared as one of the best diving locations in the world. A
wonder of geology, this 410-foot deep sinkhole is located within the Belize
Barrier Reef system and offers divers' a bottomless topography of sand, reef,
many varieties of coral, as well as caves and dramatic outcroppings that resemble
cathedrals. You will also encounter underwater wildlife like groupers, great
barracuda, a variety of sharks and many other species.
Turneffe Islands – these make up the largest of the three
offshore atoll reefs in Belize and include over 200 cayes. With more than 200
mangrove islands, the atoll is a natural nursery for a wide variety of exotic
fish, including the rare whitespotted toadfish, which is
found only in Belize.
Gladden Spit – contains some of the best-developed and most
continuous reef in Belize due to its elevation, good water quality and modified
wave regime. Many different tropical fish can be found in this marine reserve
such as the cubera, mutton and dog snappers, which produce spawn that attract

warm waters that rarely dip below 80 F, but usually the best time for scuba
diving is from December to April because this is when storms are less frequent
and visibility is at its best. May to November is considered the off-season and
dive sites are usually less crowded during these months, making them even more
private and exclusive.
